Can I be honest with you guys? Up until yesterday, I had a cracked phone case. I don’t know why it took me so long to go on Amazon and spend $7 on a new one. About two weeks ago, the air-conditioning in my car went out. After getting a diagnostic test done, I was told that it was the compressor– of course the most expensive part.
Then I thought to myself, what the hell am I working for, if I’m not taking care of the things that need to be addressed to maintain a comfortable lifestyle?
Appearances are not the most important thing, but basic comfort and convenience matter. It has been on my spirit for a long time to improve upon the things that are within my means, which leads me to my September focus: style and lifestyle upgrades.
Style: I’m tired of shopping at Zara, ya’ll. It’s time to step out of my comfort zone. So, this month, I’m trying to avoid those days where I am a walking billboard for Zara, and incorporate some vintage and generally more interesting pieces into my rotation– I’ll be posting more looks, so get ready.
Lifestyle Upgrades: I took care of the phone case, now I need a new car. Over the past couple of months, small things have gone wrong with my car: driver side door and vanity mirror, aux cord, and AC, to name a few.
I live in L.A., so I spend a considerable amount of time in my car, My car is 11 years old. Why not upgrade?
You don’t have to buy a new car this month, but at least join me for these challenges:
- Invest in one lifestyle upgrade that you have been putting on the back burner this year (i.e. new car, phone, sofa, bed, etc… you deserve it)
- Go on a trip to this month to end the summer with a bang. Day trips count!
- Reimagine your style, by getting creative with your wardrobe. Buy a new accessory or pair of shoes if you have to, because life is too short not to feel damn good in your outfits.
