Though April was a wild, action-packed month, it also brought some financial showers. My highly anticipated girls trip to Mexico happened, and I went to Coachella on a whim. Not to mention, my six-month premium for my car insurance was due. Yikes. April left me feeling BROKE broke. I had been doing pretty well up until this month. Through it all, I was able to complete the money challenge from Action April. However, as a result, I used my credit card a little more than normal. I’m over it.
Sometimes, it can seem like for every step we take forward, we take 10 steps back. This is life. But, there is no value in focusing on shortcomings when every day is a new opportunity to flip the narrative.
Instead of dwelling on my perceived financial lack in April, I chose to focus on the wealth I gained from my experiences, speak positivity over my financial situation, and commit to bouncing back this month.
Achieving our goals will not only require momentum; we’ll also need to sacrifice some things to get there. For me, I’m sacrificing the tiny piece of plastic that set me back in April. Starting today, I’m putting my credit card in my drawer, and not pulling it out until my birthday in June. Needless to say, if I don’t have it in my bank account, I’m not spending it.
Let’s build momentum by continuing what we started in April. It’s time we bloom in May. Join me for this month’s challenge:
- No credit card use.
- Fruit + veggie every day
- Work out 4-5 times per week
- 10 minutes of daily meditation
- Write, every damn day.
