The most iconic accessory to any look is a handbag. Every adult woman deserves a well-made quality bag that can fit the essentials, and the extras. When I was younger, I used to collect bags, both classic and trendy. However, from years of working in retail and exhausting employee discounts, I remember scoring a few Rebecca Minkoff bags for less than half of the retail value. One, in particular, a black tote, had been my designated work/travel/everything bag for the past 3 years. Needless to say, the poor baby needed a break, so I recently invested in another big girl bag (for work only), went through my early 2000s handbag stash, and did some scattered shopping around. My handbag wardrobe refresh was all about repurposing the old and welcoming the new. Be inspired by these Instagram-worthy spring muses below.
Loeffler Randall Studded Work Tote
I’m digging this amazing piece of leather workmanship that is my new work bag. I feel like such a boss walking into the office with this one. It has a tech sleeve that fits my MacBook Pro perfectly, a wristlet with all of my cosmetics, and my wallet. Check Saks OFF Fifth for this and other quality, discounted leather bags from Loeffler Randall.
Transparent Lilac Mini Bowling Bag
I’ll admit, I bought this one on a whim from the Angel City Brewery vendor market. Though, it’s not an everyday bag, it’s a fun mini bag to sport on weekends with distressed jeans, and a cute flowy top, or, with jeans, a bell-sleeve tee, and a leather jacket if you hate fashion rules like me.
As you can see, it fits just a few of my favorite things.
‘Vintage’ Juicy Couture Bowling Bag
Well, you won’t find this exact bag in the stores these days, but you will find this brand, which has recently made a comeback in retailers, such as Urban Outfitters, Kohl’s, Nordstrom Rack. I’m reluctant to believe that early 2000s fashion is really coming back. When I packed this bag in the back of my closet, I honestly thought it would never again see the light of day, but here I am, in 2019, about to bust it out like it’s brand new. Fight me, bro.
Alternate Work Bag – A Trendy Shopper
To avoid wearing out my new work bag above, I grabbed an alternate handbag that I can easily swap during the week. I love this mustard hue, as it serves as a pop of color and a neutral, simultaneously. If you guys hadn’t noticed, I’m a walking Zara ad, and this bag also comes in black and is available now at Zara for a special price, but probably not for long.
