The 3 Makeup Trends I’m Here For

Beauty trends come and go, almost as fast a fashion trends. Changing faces has become just as easy as changing clothes. With so many tools and techniques available, enhancing one’s natural features to create the ideal face has become the standard. As a beauty enthusiast and Sephora employee, I see the trends come and go, but lately I can’t seem to part with these three. I plan on making them last forever.

Beauty Oils

Beauty oils are the ultimate skincare-makeup hybrid. I love how you can cocktail them into just about any product. For those with sensitive skin, argan oil should be your go-to beauty oil. This dry oil once saved my skin and helped my foundation wear much better. However, my new favorite oil is Farsáli Rose Gold Elixir. This lightweight beauty oil is infused with 24-karat gold flakes that give you the most healthy-looking radiance when worn alone.

Mix a drop of your favorite beauty oil into your foundation to achieve a dewy finish, use it as a lip primer before your favorite matte lipstick, or add a drop into a drying mascara.

Metallic Lips

If you follow me on Snap or Instagram, you’ve probably seen me rocking a metallic lippie. I am truly obsessed with this trend, and I won’t let it die. Sorry, not sorry. I’m all about retro looks, and metallic lips take me back to the 90s when fashion was questionable and sparkly lips were cool. Current fave: Bite Beauty Prismatic Pearl Créme Lip Gloss in ‘Oyster Pearl.’

Highlighting, everywhere

Show me your best nose highlight, better yet, highlight that forehead and ‘shine bright like a diamond.’ I can’t get enough of knowing thy angles and going to work with my NARS Hot Sand Illuminator on various parts of my face. A little shine goes a long way, and a good highlighter amplifies the effects of natural light on the skin.
