Dear self,
I hope this finds you well. I hope this find you well, because what a shame it would be for such a beautiful love letter to get lost in the mail. I want you to read this with an open heart and an open mind. After all, I only want the best for you. I want you to know that you are enough. In fact, the first time someone told you this was during a time where you felt like the world was crashing down on you. Although you wanted to believe them, you couldn’t, because you felt so lost during that time. You are no stranger to isolation into your own thoughts. However, self-isolation no longer serves you. Deep down, you know this.
Your entire life, you have longed for the light you illuminate. You’ve longed for the loyalty and empathy you’ve so freely given to others. But, the truth is, you’ve always struggled to let others in. Do not fault yourself for this, because for far too long, you’ve used your lack of vulnerability as a means to survive. You never understood why you didn’t feel safe, but deep down you’ve known that you’ve always had higher expectations for yourself than anyone else ever could.
Not only were you taught to be independent, but you also were born into a world that expected this of you. Give yourself grace.
You’ve always brought value to others’ lives, both in person, and in spirit. You are far more special than you let on. How you present yourself to the world is magical. You illuminate rooms. Your aura attracts people from all walks of life, and people feel so safe in your presence. You make people feel seen, without feeling judged. Unfortunately, this has annoyed you at times. But, I’ve noticed you embracing this gift lately, and it makes me so proud. You are a miracle from God, in human form. You are a divine spirit, and this world absolutely needs you, even when you feel like it doesn’t. When you cry in private, I want you to remember this gift, and use this self-awareness to bask in your power.
I’ve always admired your ability to connect people. You’ve brought some of those closest to you their best friends, and you’ve done so selflessly, never feeling being threatened by the relationships they’ve built. You bring the best people together, while maintaining your place in their lives. That’s some boss bitch shit… excuse my language but this is one of the most impressive things about you.
You know who you are, and no one defines you, but you. You have the tendency to get caught up on what people may think of you, but I want you to know that it doesn’t matter. Please rest assured that others’ opinions will never be a reflection of your value. What a shame that you’ve let others’ opinions get you down at times, but something about this just adds to your charm. Because, I know that you only let it get to you because you have a deep desire to show up as your best self in every situation, regardless of how you feel inside.
Let me let you in on a little secret: you are most impressive when you are being your authentic self. You are most inspiring when you are unapologetically walking in your power
Your quirky imperfections are actually inspiring. Whether you realize it or not, you help others to release their attachment to the idea of perfection. I’ve heard you say, “I never wanted to be perfect. I just want to be real.” Girl, it’s time for you to walk the walk, for good.
Despite your private struggles, I never want you to forget that this world needs you. No amount of self doubt will ever negate this fact. I’m proud of you. I wish you nothing but continued growth, blessings, and self-love.
xoxo
