Summer is quickly approaching, and before you know it, you’ll be pulling out your brightest lipsticks to put in rotation. My favorite spring-to-summer hue is peach. It takes me back in time to those carefree childhood summers in the Midwest. I’m reminded of sleep-in Sunday brunches prepared my moms, and the satisfaction of eating fresh fruit salads during peach season.
I wanted to incorporate that feeling, that nostalgic joy, into a lip look that would tie into my now, darker, less inviting sense of style. Here’s how I created a vibrant, peachy lip to compliment my distressed denim and t-shirt that reads, “No expectations. No disappointments.” What better way to juxtapose this vibe than with a more upbeat lip look?
I opted for a dark brown lip liner, NYX Slim Lip Liner in ‘Espresso,’ and I applied a long-wearing, matte peach shade. Since the lip cream was a liquid formula, I allowed time to dry before finishing with a glossier lip cream. Peachy lips are happy lips.
